Home to more than 30,000 students, The University of Iowa offers more than 100 areas of study on a vibrant and diverse campus in Iowa City, Iowa. Iowa bases first-year student acceptance on a combination of academic records and test scores. The middle 50 percent of students admitted for fall 2011 had an ACT composite score of 23-28 (or a combined critical reading and math score of 1060-1260 on the SAT). Iowa offers more than 1,500 scholarships each year based on financial need, academic merit, or both. About 80 percent of students receive some form of financial aid, including grants, loans, and scholarships. About 40 percent of our May 2010 graduates were debt-free upon graduation.
